1-4+ Months

As you express interest in Africa Inland Mission, a regional Mobilizer will connect with you. When you are ready, you’ll apply online – starting with a simple Interest Form, followed by the longer Member Application. Once your references are received and all materials are reviewed, your Mobilizer will set up an in-person interview with you.

1-5+ Months

Upon completion of the interview, you’ll make preparations to attend Engage AIM, a week-long event held at our U.S. Headquarters just outside of Atlanta. These events are held in March, July, and November, with the deadline for attending coming one month before. As you prepare to attend, you’ll complete a Bible Assessment and work through an online checklist.

1-2 Months

Engage AIM will orient you to AIM, provide further opportunity for in-person discussions, and train you for support raising. A decision on your provisional appointment to AIM will come shortly after the event. From there, you will be asked to complete a series of psychological surveys and a clinical interview to determine readiness and timeline for departure.

6-12+ Months

After appointment, you’ll be given a Coach who will walk alongside you in determining and confirming your ministry assignment. Your Coach will then guide you through support raising and assignment preparations. You’ll continue working together through your online checklist in ensuring all requirements are met prior to leaving for the field.

3 Days

After saying goodbye to your family and friends back home, you’ll return to AIM Headquarters for Checkout. This will include final logistics, a time to both reflect and celebrate, and one monumental ride to the airport! In the early months of your new assignment, you’ll attend Africa Based Orientation, AIM’s 3-week field training held in Kenya.
