2021 Annual Report

AIM USA Mobilizing Region

Colin McDougal became the new AIM USA Director in February 2022

Our work begins and ends with prayer.

No review of 2021 can ignore the headwind caused by the Covid pandemic that reduced the mobility of our members, and the special challenges it brought to our educators at Rift Valley Academy and our many theological educators serving in Bible colleges and seminaries.

The struggles put into clear contrast our weakness and the great grace of God in Christ Jesus. He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all we ask or imagine, according to the power that works in us, and He proved that over again in 2021. This annual report is really a praise report to give to the Lord the honor due His name.

Our breakthrough prayer in 2021 was that God would grant us an open door for our members to serve in Tanzania. Immigration laws were bringing great stress on our members serving in that nation, and many were being rejected for work permits. A number of work permits were due to expire in October, and we were concerned that we could be forced to close some ministry teams.

As we prayed and sought the Lord for an open door, He brought a new president into office, Samia Suluhu Hasan. She is the sixth president of the republic, and though she is a Muslim, her government began to expedite our work permits and we began to see signs of encouragement. Finally in October, at the eleventh hour for many of our workers, a new law was published extending work permit durations for AIM and others.

This breakthrough in God’s perfect timing gives us confidence as we pray a new breakthrough prayer in 2022, that the Lord will allow AIM to send 62 new full-term US missionaries to the field in 2022. We can already see signs of encouragement as He grows our short-term mission team ahead of the summer, but we are asking for full-term ministers as well.

Our confidence is in Jesus who taught us that whenever we see the fields ready for harvest, we should pray for the Father to send workers. That is what we are doing this year, and we would love to have you join us in it!
